About rubberwood:
Rubberwood is becoming a wood of choice for consumers who are both discerning about quality and concerned for the environment. It is harvested from plantation-grown rubber trees, which at full maturity no longer yield latex. These trees are replaced and have traditionally been burned for fuel. Now, however, increasing demand for this attractive, durable light hardwood as timber helps to reduce pressure on ancient hardwood forests such as tropical rainforests. Its naturally light finish allows it to be stained in a variety of colours to suit different interior environments.
