Ceramic tiles are extremely cost effective and lower in cost than porcelain and natural stone tiles, largely due to their make-up whereby the tiles are coated with a thin layer of glaze. This layer can be prone to chipping and therefore it is wise to budget an extra 10% when purchasing ceramic tiles.
